100% private. Files are processed on your device and never uploaded to any server.
How it works — step by step
- Add a photo, screenshot or scanned image containing text.
- Click "Extract text" — OCR runs on your device (the first run downloads the recognition engine, ~6 MB).
- Copy the recognized text or download it as a .txt file.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the OCR?
Clear, well-lit images of printed text recognize very accurately. Handwriting, stylized fonts and low-resolution photos reduce accuracy — crop tightly around the text for best results.
Which languages are supported?
English is currently supported, with more languages planned. The recognizer runs entirely in your browser.
Are my images uploaded for processing?
No — and that is rare for OCR tools. Recognition runs locally using WebAssembly, so sensitive documents never leave your device.
